Buildings
St. Louis County Planning and Zoning Department is requiring us to put up new buildings to house the animals indoors.  Right now, our dogs are in outside kennels with dog houses to keep them out of the elements.  Cats have a heated building and an outdoor run.  Kittens and small indoor dogs are kept in the home of our chairperson.  We are in dire need of funding to expand our operation to include a new building for dogs, a new building for cats, and also an on-site veterinary clinic.  We have plans drawn up, but need final blueprints.  The construction labor is being donated, but materials are spendy.  Below are some pictures of the proposed plans.  As you can see, we intend to have the animals able to get in and out in their own runs as they feel the need.  A foundation sent a check for 32,000.00 in April of 2004 to install the septic, well, and power lines for our new buildings. We have an estimate to put up the entire building complex for $900,000. We have a commitment of $136,000 towards the $900,000. We need local companies to help donate building materials. We need a licensed electrician, plumber, heating and cooling people to help donate time this summer to cut this 900,000 cost, or people willing to help provide matching funds.
